We finally get to celebrate one of the most delicious culinary treat in the world! Kids love it, parents enjoy it, the preparation is easy, and it goes with mostly anything you’d like to add as a side dish.

World Pasta Day was created at the World Pasta Congress in 1995, and it is celebrated worldwide every October 25th.

What do you know about pasta?


Did you know that there are over 600 shapes of pasta in the world? Wow! That means that you can make over 600 pasta meals, and not each of will be the same. Cool, right? It comes from Italy and it’s made of dough and wheat flower, shaped into various shapes. There are dried and fresh pasta with 310 specific forms and over 1300 names.

Let’s have pasta for lunch!


Yes, let’s cook pasta today. We have one of our favorite recipes that we want to share with you. Hopefully, you will enjoy making it, along with eating it. We’d like to encourage parents to prepare today’s lunch together with their children. We’re preparing pasta with ham, peas and cream we found on Pinterest. What you will need for this meal are the following ingredients:

  • 200 grams farfalle pasta (or other short pasta)
  • 100 grams frozen petits pois
  • 150 ml double cream
  • 150 grams diced ham
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

And this is how the preparation goes:

  • Start cooking the pasta and add the peas 5 minutes after
  • When the pasta is cooked, drain with the peas
  • Put the dry pan back on the heat with the cream, ham and Parmesan, and warm it through
  • Add the pasta and peas back to the pan and toss it all together
